A brand-new season of motor sport gets under way this weekend and we can not wait for the racing action to begin. We also want to make sure that you are safe and that help will be available, if you suffer from a fall from all the excitement or have any other medical issues – which is where a personal alarm can help.
The nation’s living rooms will be filled with the sound of cars and motorbikes as the Formula One and Moto GP seasons begin in Australia and Qatar. The excitement is building as the lights prepare to go out for the first time.
Lets take a look at both forms of motor sport, before explaining more our about our pendant alarm system.
Formula One
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominated Formula One for the second consecutive season in 2015. Only Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel came close to matching the speed of the silver arrows, and this was only on the odd rare occasion.
It is likely that Mercedes will be the team to beat yet again this year, although Ferrari could have something to say about that.
Elsewhere we have the return of Renault after they bought the Lotus Team, and we have a brand-new team in Haas. Qualifying has also had a complete overhaul to try and make Saturday afternoon’s more exciting.
Many claim that F1 is boring and predictable but many of the die-hard fans will still tune in every race weekend. To be honest, even the most casual fans like to watch the opening race of the season to see all of the new cars in action.
Moto GP
Last year’s Moto GP season was one of the most entertaining and controversial in years. The title was eventually won by Jorge Lorenzo at the final race of the year, but only after a fierce rivalry had exploded into life between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
Towards the end of the year the pair battled off the track, and on the track. An incident at the penultimate race led to Rossi, who had led the championship all year, having to start the final race from the back of the grid.
Rossi fought through to fourth but this wasn't enough. Marquez followed Lorenzo for the entirety of the race which led to the latter taking the title by five points.
This year could be even more exciting as the rivalry continues and Rossi looks for payback in what could be his final year in the sport. You also have the Suzuki and Aprilia teams that have improved over the winter, along with the power of the Ducati – which cannot be ignored.
