Panic Alarm Unit
The panic alarm base unit fits seamlessly within your home telephone system. The base unit plugs into your master telephone socket and a mains power socket. Then, your home telephone connects to the back of the alarm unit using the telephone adaptor provided.
It has a loudspeaker system, which is used by the 24/7 monitoring team to speak with you in an emergency. It's loud enough to be heard even if you're in a different room. when speaking to the monitoring team, alarm users can respond via a built-in microphone.
The base unit has a 40-hour backup support battery which will kick in in case of a power cut. Once power is restored, the base unit will recharge itself.
Panic Alarm Button
The panic alarm button itself is a small and discreet device that can be worn in two different configurations. The alarm can be worn on your wrist like a watch, or around your neck using a provided neck cord.
The pendant alarm is also waterproof. This means that it can still raise an alarm if you slip or fall in the shower, or will not get damaged if you use the wrist configuration whenever you are using a sink. The pendant's 100-meter, long-range connection also means that you can also call for help if you trip or fall outside in the garden.
If ever an emergency arises, all you need to do is press the panic alarm button. This sends an automatic alert call through to our 24/7 monitoring team, who will respond within seconds.

How to use your Carelink Alarm
You now know the features of the Carelink Alarm you are about to order, but what do you actually need to do in an emergency? This section of the Carelink guide will explain how to use your alarm. We believe using your alarm couldn't be simpler - we think it's even easier than making yourself a cup of tea!
Let's imagine that you are at home enjoying your favourite TV show or doing a spot of cleaning. All of a sudden, you start feeling unwell or have a fall. All you need to do is press the button on your pendant. Our monitoring team will receive your call for help. They will speak to you over the alarm unit's loudspeaker to see what the situation is before calling your emergency contacts.
We suggest that you select members of your family, close friends, or neighbours as emergency contacts. Your chosen contacts will be informed that you require urgent help. If you require medical assistance, the emergency services will also be contacted. The monitoring team will call your contacts to assist you even if you are unable to respond to their loudspeaker call.
Don't worry if you press your button by mistake! False alarms are quite common. In any case, our team are always happy to speak with you and check that your alarm is working perfectly.
Don't forget to test your Carelink alarm at least once a month! Simply press your button and let our monitoring team know that it is just a test.
