As the sun comes out and the temperatures rises, many amazing options and opportunities to fill your time come along! Do you have a spare weekend to fill? Or do you have family and friends visiting for a few days but not sure what to do? Here are our top three British Flower Shows for you to consider. But best be quick before you miss them, it’s already July!
1.) THE KNOWSLEY FLOWER SHOW | 4 AUGUST
First is the Knowsley Flower Show in Liverpool, which is celebrating its 21st birthday. Being the largest horticultural show in the North West, there are 100's of classes to enter, attractions, live music, crafts, face painting, fair rides and farmers markets. There is something for everyone, even dogs are welcome!
2.) SHREWSBURY FLOWER SHOW | 9 – 10 AUGUST
In under a two-hour drive from Liverpool, our next stop is in Shrewsbury. A very traditional market, with a medieval culture and feel. Proud to be one of the country’s best flower shows. Shrewsbury Flower Show promises fantastic floral displays, horticultural competitions and high quality trade stands.
Some of the qualities of this show include having gardeners on hand for the green-fingered visitors looking for tips and advice. Moreover, professional chefs can be found in the dedicated food hall producing mouth watering plates for the ones needing a boost or treat during or after the show.
3.) SOUTHPORT FLOWER SHOW | 15 – 18 AUGUST
Are you going to be one of the 50,000 visitors travelling to the countries' largest independent flower shows? If the celebration dinner, celebrity guests, entertainment, food festival, garden theatre, hospitality, show gardens and shopping village cant attract you like bees and honey (which they also have)… What will?
Pop down to meet Dave Myers the hairy biker or Christine Walkden, another one of the BBC’s celebrities, or even the family favourite Mr Tumble (Justin Fletcher).
